About Us
Loch Lynn Heights became an incorporated municipality in 1896. See Maryland State Archives, Chapter 450. It sits at an elevation of 2,464 feet and is approximately 0.32 square miles in size. According to the 2020 US Census, Loch Lynn Heights had 493 residents living in 217 homes. An elected Mayor and four Town Council members, who must reside in the town, govern the municipality, and exercise only such powers as set forth by the State of Maryland.
Town's Mission Statement
The mission of Loch Lynn Heights government is to provide services which promote public health, safety, and a good quality of life for its residents. Emphasis is placed on enhancing a sense of community, and preserving the integrity of our small-town identity. These goals are accomplished through planning, accountability, unbiased adherence to regulations, accessibility and responsive action.
Our Mayor
Larry F. Friend is the current Mayor. He took office in January of 2025 and will serve a 2-year term.
Mayor Friend also served as Mayor from 2000 to 2008, followed by Carolyn Corley who served from 2008
through 2024.

Our Town Council
Council members are elected for two-year terms on alternating years. Now serving on the Council are Max Hill, Barbara Rexroad,
Bryce Canfield and John Groves.
Our Town Clerk/Treasurer
Keeping things running at Town Hall are Clerk/Treasurer Becky Friend and assistant Cheryl Gnegy. They are happy to answer questions, assist with document preparation and facilitate rental of our pavilion.
